boredom leads people to do random things... and the other day's boredom led to a discovery which, i'm not sure if it was a good discovery or an unfortunate one... but anyway, it's better to have learned about it rather than have left it to progress.
just a simple person
living a simple, uninteresting, mundane life.
why would anyone be so preoccupied?
why would anyone take time?
why would anyone want to make me a part of their life?
mind-boggling
inexplicable
appalling
simply freaky.
lots of question will be left unanswered, better kept that way. let our paths not cross, for my string of patience might reach its end. the kite runner puts a thought of mine into words:
"Now, no matter what the mullah teaches, there is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft. Do you understand that?
"No, Baba jan," I said, desperately wishing I did. I didn't want to disappoint him again.
...
"When you kill a man, you steal a life," Baba said. "You steal his wife's right to a husband, rob his children of a father. When you lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness. Do you see?"
...
"There is no act more wretched than stealing, Amir," Baba said. "A man who takes what's not his to take, be it a life or a loaf of naan... I spit on such a man. And if I ever cross paths with him, God help him..."
sure, everyone lies, of course, even I do. but, if it hurts and there is intention to hurt, it is just unacceptable. motives are unclear but there must be one. this is just one of the questions that will be left unanswered.
i will try to let go.
